Westford is grateful for the Town common rebirth and we thank Mr. Kruse and all those who contributed to this successful project.
It
is pleasurable to see the Town common being enjoyed, especially when we
remember that not too long ago it was not an attractive site. New sturdy
benches have replaced the old ones which needed too much repair. A new swing and slide set has been
installed and is much enjoyed by children visiting the common.
The new pavilion has
had a light and light sensor installed which switches the power on and off. The pavilion gets regular use serving as a bandstand, picnic site or just a nice place to meet and visit.
A few shrubs and trees have been added to the common. Also the town bulletin board was refurbished by adding plexiglass on hinges for the posting of bulletins and notices. A bird feeder has been placed across from the Westford Market and is attracting a wide variety of birds to enjoy the "free lunch" provided by the market owners and others.
